Senior Financial Analyst, Planning and Analysis
Head Office - Toronto, ONPrimaris REIT is currently hiring a dedicated and enthusiastic Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Planning and Analysis to join our team at our Head Office, in Toronto, ON. As the Senior Financial Analyst, you will play a crucial role in shaping the financial landscape of our organization. You will be responsible for overseeing financial planning processes, conducting analyses to support strategic initiatives, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Play a role in the annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and three-year strategic planning processes
• Analyze performance to budget / forecast / prior year, interpret results, and recommend appropriate actions to ensure financial targets are achieved
• Assist in preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements
• Conduct detailed analysis of financial results, identifying trends, variances, and financial risks or opportunities
• Coordinate with various departments to gather necessary data and information for financial planning and reporting purposes
• Ensure that financial reports are compliant with internal policies, and external regulations and standards
• Prepare accounting policy documents to ensure accounting treatments are compliant with relevant accounting standards
• Perform variance analysis and explain differences between budgeted, forecasted, and actual financial results
• Develop and maintain financial models and dashboards for analyzing financial performance and aiding in decision-making
• Communicate financial insights and recommendations to management for informed decision-making
• Other ad hoc duties as assigned
To excel in this role, we are looking for candidates who are analytical and have a background in corporate accounting. If this opportunity sounds interesting to you, you likely have the following attributes:
• University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related discipline
• CFA, CPA or MBA designation
• 5+ years in financial analysis, financial reporting, audit and/or accounting with a strong understanding of IFRS
• Real Estate experience considered an asset
• Strong analytical skills, financial knowledge and able to grasp business complexities
• Advanced ability to analyse data and utilise Excel for modelling and manipulating large volumes of data
• Ability to work under tight timelines, multi-task and prioritise workload
• Comfortable with some ambiguity
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with various levels of staff including the Senior Management Team and external stakeholders
• Argus and Yardi experience considered an asset
